Exercise 2

Duality and internal resistance

A journal and feeling exercise to get in contact with lost aspects of yourself.

As soon as we prefer one aspect over another, we are stuck in duality. We can prefer strongness over weakness. Productivity over laziness, etc.

When we reject one part of the duality in favor of another, we keep chasing that part and it gets harder and harder. They are two sides of the same coin, they come together. This means that we become strong by allowing and feeling through weakness. We can only be productive after allowing ourselves to be lazy.

I would like you to journal about a few questions and after that feel through the aspects that are missing. Find them in your body and breathe through it. Care for it like a loving mother or father who will never judge a child nor seek solutions to once again pursue one aspect of the coin. .

Weakness / strength

What does weakness mean? (write +/- 5 minutes)

What do you dislike about it and why?

Does your condition force you to be weak?

Where do you feel weak in your body? Breathe through it.

Belonging / not belonging

What does belonging mean for you? (write +/- 5 minutes)

Why do you feel you don’t belong?

Does your current condition force you to live through the opposite of belonging?

Where is the pain hidden in your body?

Can you connect with that part of your body? Breathe through it

Laziness and productivity

What does laziness and productivity mean for you? (write +/- 5 minutes)

Why do you feel negative about one side of this coin?

Does your current condition force you to become friends with one aspect of yourself?

Where is this aspect hidden in your body?

Can you connect with that part of your body? Breathe through it

Be creative

Now it is time to slowly become aware of all the other dualities. Which one do you prefer over the other? Repeat the same exercise. Don’t do this forcefully now, but whenever you have become aware of another duality in your life.

Good luck and a big hug :)
